Community Christmas

“This was a great event, even better then last years imo; thank you! Food was delicious too!” ~M.B.

Southside wants to say a huge thank you first of all to the more than 50 volunteers who helped make Community Christmas a reality. We also had a donor provide $20 gift cards for stockings for 50 teens and adults. And of course we owe huge thanks to a variety of community partners, including:

  • Cenikor

  • Dahlstrom Middle School Choir

  • Frank’s Automotive

  • Gary Job Corps

  • Journey UMC

  • Regalado Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

  • Rotary Club of Wimberley

  • The Coffee Bar

Last year, we started a new tradition here at Southside: Community Christmas. We wanted to give our neighbors gifts while having a great party. Thus the idea of Community Christmas was born. We would give gifts to individuals and families, serve food, have games, and enjoy some time with all our neighbors. We were blown away by the response to the event!

This year, we set out to do even better than before. Thanks in large part to our community partners and volunteers, we had another incredible event. We served more than 160 individuals this year and cannot wait to see how that grows in the future. Our neighbors received gifts and winter clothing items, ate lunch, made gingerbread houses, and more.
